Joyce Marie Bigelow (Whisenant)

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Kyuka Cemetery for Ms. Joyce Bigelow, 60, Gadsden, who passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. The Rev. Don Young will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing. Ms. Bigelow was a longtime resident of Gadsden and a member of 12th Street Baptist Church. She was a 1967 graduate of Gadsden High School. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Thompson Whisenant; father, D. Arnold Whisenant; and sister, Janice Whisenant Hinds. She is survived by her son, Jason (Sonya) Bigelow; daughter, Jenifer (Joe) Lovvorn; grandchildren, Jacob Bigelow and Jackson and Landon Lovvorn; brother, Larry (Kelly) Whisenant; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff of McGuffey's Health care and Rehab and CCU at Riverview Regional Medical Center for the loving care they gave our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the 12th Street Baptist Church homebound mission or the MS Society. A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 this evening at Collier-Butler.
