John Whisenant

Mr. John Nelson Whisenant, 95, of Morganton, passed into eternity on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at his residence. John was born in Burke County and was the son of Morrison and Lucinda W. Whisenant. He was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture and a member of Snowhill United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Princess Branch Whisenant; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Callie Fleming; and brothers, Sam Whisenant, Lee Whisenant, Michael Whisenant, Gus Whisenant and Ellis Whisenant. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton
