Emma Susan WHISENHUNT Emma Susan Whisenhunt, 92 of Mount Ida, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 1991 in the Montgomery County Nursing Home. She was born March 1, 1898 in Sims, the daughter of John B. and Lou R. (Hatton) Elder. She had been a resident of Montgomery County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and non-denominational in faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Whisenhunt, and one daughter, Lorene Whisenhunt Vines. Survivors include three sons, Witt Whisenhunt and Woodrow Whisenhunt, both of Sims, and Doyle Whisenhunt of Mount Ida; three daughters, Allie Vines of Mount Ida and Clara May Baker and Eula Fay Blackburn, of Sims; three brothers, Johnny Elder and Paul Elder, both of Ozark and Jimmie Elder of California; four sisters, Wilda Elder of California, Pearl Owens of Mountain Pine, and Vera Elder and Alice Hicks, both of Ozark; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 in Lone Valley Church of God with Rev. Jodi Anderson officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Whisenhunt, Bill Whisenhunt, Gip Whisenhunt, Russell Whisenhunt, Douglas Vines and Lannie Vines. Burial was in Rocky Cemetery under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
