Ellis Marvin Whisenhunt (1916 - 1969)

Ellis Marvin Whisenhunt, 93, a longtime resident of the Fort Worth area, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in Conroe.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Marvin was born Aug. 3, 1916, in Porum, Okla. He resided in Fort Worth from 1928 to March 2005, when he and his wife moved to Conroe to be near family. He was married to Cora Pheeny Whisenhunt on Feb. 20, 1937, until her passing in 2005.

Survivors: Sons, Author Gilford Whisenhunt and wife, Darlene, Kenneth Marvin Whisenhunt and wife, Betty Joyce; seven granddaughters, including Teresa Ann Petteys who was raised by her grandparents; eight grandsons; and numerous great-grandchildren. Published in Star-Telegram on January 31, 2010
