Lillie Frances Whisenant
— GRANBURY ? Lillie Frances Whisenant, 82, most fondly known as ?Ms. Wiz? went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 7, 2006, in Granbury.
Lillie Frances was born to Thomas and Sarah Stewart Aug. 7, 1923. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother and loyal friend, but most of all she was an ?encourager? to all who knew her. She and her husband, Jewel Edward Whisenant, whom she married Oct. 24, 1942, served the Lord for more than 55 years in Home Mission work. Her book ?The Encourager? details the history and wonderful memories of this ministry.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Michael Whisenant.
She is survived by her husband, Jewel Edward Whisenant; son, Michael Whisenant and his wife, Susan, of Granbury; grandaughter, Kristi Lanigan, her husband, Ray, and their children, Zachary and Kandace; grandaughter, Rauni Whisenant; grandson, Justin Whisenant; foster son, Ron Davis, and his wife, Jeanette, of Kentucky, and their adult children, Marcia Dietemann, Tricia Valore, David Davis; and a multitude of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford. Arrangements are by Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury. Burial will be at Tin Top Cemetery.
