L.G. "Coke" Whisenant, 77, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, near his home in Lipan.
Funeral: 2 p.m., Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Bu??? Hoggard Cemetery, Azle. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home Weatherford.
Coke was born June 23, 1926, in Mansfield, but lived most of his life in Aledo. He worked as a dairy hand for M.L. Farmer, then retired from the Highway Department run the Aledo Mobil with his brother Ray. Although
Coke enjoyed his home in Lipan he never stopped thinking of his friends in Aledo Coke was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Viva Whisenant, and three brothers.
Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Dorothy Roe Whisenant; daughters and spouses, Li??? and Willard Higgins of Waldo, Ark., Pam and Kirk Johnson of Lipan, Debbie and ??? Gilbreath of Glen Rose and Jackie and Mike Sneed of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; seven great-graqdchildren; brothers, Ray Whisenant of Aledo, TX, Bill Whisenant of Gadsden, Ala.; sister, Jo Norris of Aledo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
