A Whisnant, dead in Arizona
Upper Alton Man Passas away Thursday night at Phoenix after long illness
Armstead Whisnant, aged 63. died at 9:30 o'clock last night at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, after a long illness from Kidney trouble. Mr. Whisnant was a resident of Upper Alton many years and during lat years he conducted a shoe andd harness shop on College avenue. About eighteen months ago Mr. Whisnant gave up business on account of his health and moved to Arizona in the hope that the climate there might benefit him but he [can't read] better and it was known [can't read] he went West that he was steadily declining in health. He leaves his wife and, five children. The children are Nathan, of Upper Alton, Luther of Florida, and Authur, Willie, and Janie Whisnant, of Phoenix. He also leaves a brother and two sisters, Mrs. 0. M. Elder of Upper Alton, Miss Lillie Bonnell, of Eldorado, Illinois, and Oscaar Whisnant, of Phoenix. The funeral will be held in Phoenix and burial will be made there. Mr. Whisnantwas in the dairy business a long number of years. Living on the Davis farm qhiaxh ia noq a part of the E. B. Young place.
