Virginia Whisonant
ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Virginia Workman Whisonant, 86, of 320 W. Rambo Road died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Revs. Bob Porterfield and Donald Scoggins officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Whisonant was a daughter of the late Crawford Workman and Ethel Cleo Jordan Workman. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was the widow of David Lyle Whisonant.
Surviving are three sons, Darryl Whisonant and David Whisonant, both of Rock Hill, and Steve Whisonant of Denver, N.C.; four daughters, Jean Reynolds of The Woodlands, Texas, Pam Baker of Odessa, Texas, and Rena Neely and Barbara Johnson, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Crawford William Workman of Rock Hill; her sister, Helen Gulledge of Rock Hill; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by daughter, Gina "Cassie" Vinson.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and at other times at the home of David Whisonant, 320 W. Rambo Road.
