Sarah Keller

Sarah Whisnant Keller, 80, of Morganton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at Grace Hospital.

She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Burke County, to the late William Otis and Pauline Miller Whisnant.

Mrs. Keller was a Navy wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She will be missed very much by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Don Keller and his wife, Pam; her daughter, Myra Holmes and her husband, Dudley, of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Sandy Keller; grandchildren, Casey W. Keller, Pamela Keller, Dana Rhatigan, Sharon AuBuchon, Renée Powers, Jason Keller, Justin Keller and Reagan Katte; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Ray Keller; her son, Ron Keller; a sister, Julia Shillito; her grandchildren, Danny Holmes and Michael Keller.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Francis King officiating.

Burial will be at Pineola Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Kirksey Funeral Home is assisting the family.
