Velma - FREDA MARIE WHISENHUNT POTTER, 78, of Velma, passed away Friday, February 3, 2006, in Bishop-Davies Nursing Home in Hurst, Texas.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Eastside Church of Christ with Ron Stough officiating.

Interment will be in New Velma Cemetery under direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Freda was born May 27, 1927, in Empire, the daughter of Cecil and Hazel Whaley Whisenhunt. She moved to California as a child, returning to Velma in 1976. She and Tom Potter were married in Torrance, Calif., and he preceded her in death in 1969.

She was a faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ who loved the fellowship with her church family.

Survivors include a son, Allan Rogers of Crestline, Calif.; two daughters, Jayne Englant of Euless, Texas, and Cristi Burnett of Paris, Texas; a sister, Lee Keller of Torrance; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
