Thelma Marie Whisenhunt

Thelma Marie Whisenhunt left this earth on July 25, 2010 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87. She was born December 31, 1922 in Lindsay, Oklahoma and raised in Dibble, Oklahoma, where she graduated from High School. Her parents were Maybelle (Perry) Thomas and W.C. Thomas, Sr. and her family included a sister, Gladys Tucker (deceased) and two brothers, Douglas Thomas (deceased) and W.C. Thomas, Jr. who lives with his wife, Imogene, in Lindsay, Oklahoma

Thelma and Edwin Whisenhunt were married February 19, 1942. They established and then operated Ed's Propane in Lindsay for more than 40 years. Edwin preceded Thelma in death on July 9, 2001.

Thelma and Edwin were the loving parents of Wendel Whisenhunt and Denise Slack. Wendel and his wife, Mary Lee, presented them with two grandchildren; Asia Rae and Nicholas Whisenhunt. Denise and her husband Larry Slack also presented them with two grandchildren; Aaron Slack, who married Krysty and Jess Slack who married Maria. In addition, she had three great-grandchildren; Joe Slack, Trent Anthis and Kalley Mae Anthis.

Thelma was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Lindsay which was an important part of her life. She was a kind, loving and dignified person who will be missed by all.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whisenhunt are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Thursday, July 29th, 2010 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma located at 410 W. Chickasaw St. Mike Somers will be officiating with Wendel Whisenhunt assisting. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
