Barbara J. Whisenant
Barbara J. Whisenant, 79, of Medford, Ore., went to be with Jesus early in the morning of October 8, 2010. She left this world from her home after years of passionate care from her daughters, Cheryl and Loretta.
Barbara was born to William John Cook and Hilda Frances Vincent, in Los Angeles, Calif., on August 19, 1931.
She is survived by one son, Don Sample; four daughters, Pam King, Diane Kenmoen, Cheryl Brenneman and Lorreta Farley; sisters, Betty Cavanaugh and Ruth Mentzer; brothers Bill and Dean Cook; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bud Cook; sisters, Virginia Sharp and Joan Lown; and husbands, Don Sample, Harold Drysdale and Paul Whisenant.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010. at 1:00 p.m., at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore. Pastor Ryan Sample, Barbara's grandson, will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Barbara's life following the service at 953 Washburn Lane in Medford.
