Maurine Miller
Ethel Maurine Whisenhunt Miller, born August 17, 1915, age 93, passed away quietly in a hospital in Stafford, Texas on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009. Maurine was a devoted wife and mother. She married Lester V. Miller on November 9, 1935. They had three children, Lynn, Fred and Kent. Maurine spent most of her life in the Hughes community as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and later as a sewing factory worker. Lester was a farmer and carpenter. She and Lester moved to Lindsay upon retirement, and ten years ago they moved to Wharton, Texas to be close to her son.
Maurine was the surviving member of the Freddie Fletcher and Ethel Elizabeth Whisenhunt family who moved to the Lindsay area in 1907. Her sister was Lucille McCutcheon of Midwest City. Her brothers were Fred Vernon Whisenhunt of Nashville, TN, Edwin Whisenhunt of Lindsay and Ted Whisenhunt of Moore. She is survived by sisters-in-law Thelma Whisenhunt of Lindsay and Faye Whisenhunt of Moore.
Maurine was preceded in death by her youngest son, Kent on January 1, 1968 and her husband Lester on February 7, 2003. She is survived by two sons, Lynn Miller and Alice of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Fred Miller and Gale of Richmond, Texas. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren follow: grandson: Mark and Michele Miller, and their children Caleb, Marlena, Katlyn of Heavener, Ok.; grandson: Heath and Amy Miller, and their children, Paris and Harley of Richardson, Tx.; granddaughter: Laura and J.C. Callison, and their children, Magnum and Garrett of Presidio, Tx.; granddaughter, LeAnna Brun and her children, Victoria and Hannah of Sugar Land, Tx.; grandson, Zachary Miller and Diana of Nashville, TN.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller are set for one o'clock p.m. on Saturday, May 30th, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Rev. David Guerrero officiating. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay.
