Violet 'Vi' Folks

Violet Vi Folks, age 91, a resident of Eagle River, Wis., since 2002, and formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and Los Lunas, N.M., died at Lillian E. Kerr Nursing Home in Phelps, Wis.

She was born on April 29, 1918, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Albert and Nellie Whisenant.

Vi was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Hollar and Bell Folks; daughter, Peggy J. Thompson; son, Joseph A. Hollar; three brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Bernice (Gary) Gilbert of Eagle River; brother, Walter Whisenant of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Audrey (Wilson) Anderson of Elbertson, Ga.; grandchildren, Lora (Mark) Haynes of Land O Lakes, Wis., Tara (Peter) Mezera of La Crosse, Wis., Nancy (Mark) Richardson of Winsor, Wis., Steven (Malinda) Thompson of N.M., Randyl Thompson of Wyoming, Shelly Strong of N.M.; many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

Private family services for Vi were already held.
