Dorothy Francis Whisnand Taylor

SAN ANGELO Dorothy Francis Whisnand Taylor, 79, of San Angelo, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, in a local care center. Dorothy was born March 2, 1931, in San Angelo to Earl and Mabel Whisnand. Dorothy graduated from Waco High School and briefly attended TCU before her marriage to James Ray Taylor of Waco. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Whisnand and Mabel (Clements Whisnand; sister Helen Dorrance; brother Earl W. Whisnand; and son-in-law Steve Meeks. Dorothy is survived by her son, Earl R. Taylor and wife Christine of Wiesbaden, Germany; daughter Sandra Meeks of Bryan, Texas; son James Alan Taylor and wife Cindy of Tecumseh, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. A memorial service will be held at the Duke Family Reunion in Ballinger, Texas, the fourth weekend of July. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the care provided by devoted niece Becky Colby and husband Billy and her cousin, Peggy Sharp, as well as the professional and caring care provided by Jim Elliott of Johnson's Funeral Home.
