Kathleen Horton
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Kathleen (Miss Kat) Horton will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. Melton Prothro officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from noon until service time at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Interment will be private.
Miss Kat, as she was affectionately known, was born November 22, 1930 in Bradley, AR to Edward and Ida Jackson Whisenhunt and died January 12, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Haughton. Miss Kat will always be remembered for her cooking skills and her tireless caring for others during their time of need.
Her husband of 55 years, Shelly G. Horton, Sr., parents, sisters, Maurice Courtney, Marguerite Moore, Billye Jean Wolfe, brothers, Dan and Louis Whisenhunt, daughter-in-law, Denise Horton, granddaughter, Kristy Horton and great granddaughter, Casey Horton preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Gary B. Horton of Bossier City, LA, Shelly Horton, Jr. and wife Christa of Benton, LA, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Honoring Miss Kat as pallbearers will be, Rodney Horton, Keith Horton, Jason Henry, Kerry Horton, Tracy Horton and Gregg Stewart.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Colonial Oaks Nursing Home and Promise Hospital of Bossier City for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.
