Amy Nicole Clark
Amy Nicole Clark AMARILLO - Amy Nicole Clark, R.N., 34, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Plainview, Texas, with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas. Amy was born in Plainview, Texas, to Kevin and Kathy Whisenant on Oct. 9, 1976. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1994 and continued her education at West Texas A&M University where she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2001. She married Kory Clark in May 1999 in Jamaica. Together they had one daughter, Avery Grace. Amy had a passion and zest for life that was unmatched and became a registered nurse because of her unbridled will to help others. From 2001-2008 she worked as a nurse, primarily in the emergency room, and during the end of her career as a charge nurse in the emergency room at BSA in Amarillo. She thrived on the "excitement" of the emergency room setting and was always at her best in times of crisis. During her career in the emergency room, there were countless accounts of her ability to comfort families in their times of need and her ability to "step up" when her patients and teammates needed her the most. Not only did Amy have a strong will to help others while she was working as a registered nurse, but this carried over to her everyday life. Just as she was at her best at work in times of crisis, she was also there for friends and family in times of need. Whether it was taking food to someone who was sick or injured, babysitting children or pets, or actually caring for a sick friend when she left her day job, Amy was always there for others. She chose to be a Life Gift donor so that she could continue to help others. Amy was a loving wife, mother, daughter and granddaughter. She loved traveling, animals and spending time with her family. The way in which she lived her life should serve as a wonderful example for others to follow. All who came into contact with her will miss her.
