Myrtle Irene Whisenhant

TUSCALOOSA Myrtle Irene Whisenhant, age 97, of Tuscaloosa, died Feb. 16, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Circlewood Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Moundville with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Toler; mother, Lugenia King Toler; and husband, William Robert Whisenhant.

Survivors include her son, Jim Whisenhant (Frances) of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Essie Harless of Tuscaloosa and Dessie Smedley of Texas; and grandchildren, Dennis Whisenhant (Lynn) and Nancy Taylor (Chris), all of Tuscaloosa.

She was born in the King community close to Moundville, Ala.

Honorary pallbearers are her many loving nieces and nephews, DCH Emergency Department, and 1st Floor ICU.
