Minnie Lee Wilson Whisenant

Minnie Lee Wilson Whisenant, 73, of Marion, died Tuesday September 17, 2002 at her home.

Born in Yancey County to the late Bryan Wilson and Dora Effler Wilson, she was a retired employee of Baxter Healthcare, Inc. She was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, David Whisenant, and two sisters, Bonnie Loftis and Martha Wilson.

Surviving is her former spouse, Lawrence Whisenant. She is survived by one son, Darrell Whisenant, of Bull Shoals, AR; one daughter, Ann Watson of Marion; 8 sisters, Frances Ballew of Marion, Edith Duncan of Titusville, FL, Evelyn Wilson of Marion, Elizabeth Nichols of Marion, Marie Lane of Marion, Wilma Wilson of Marion, Dovie Laughridge of SC, and Pearl Wilson of Titusville, FL; two brothers, John Wilson of Marion and Jack Wilson of Marion. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

The family received friends on Saturday, September 21 from 7-8:30 PM. Services were held on Sunday, September 22 at 2 PM at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion.

The Revs. Tommy Harding and Larry Nix officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park.
