Toni Lee Montoya Whisenhunt
April 28, 1946 - September 23, 2007
Bob's beloved wife and best friend, Rene and Paul's mother, and a favorite daughter and sister returned home on Sunday, September 23, 2007. Her loving family and friends will sorely miss Toni. Her son Paul thought she was an angel because she was here on earth for such a short time.
Toni was born April 28, 1946 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico and raised in Henderson, Nevada. She graduated from Basic High.
Toni and Bob were married in Las Vegas in 1965; moved to New Mexico where they started their family in Santa Fe; moved to Anchorage, Alaska; also worked together in remote Barrow, Alaska; and then retired in Friday Harbor.
Toni led an exciting life many only dream of (she was our family celebrity). She traveled and sailed the world from Bali, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand, to the Caribbean and Italy. She was and continues to be an inspiration to her family and friends. She always had a positive attitude, bright eyes, and effortless smile. Toni had a way of making people feel loved and important, and thus affected the lives of many in a positive way. She lived her life possessing an optimistic nature that carried her through her illness.
Toni's home base was Friday Harbor, but she made friendships in many ports and countries. Toni definitely touched everyone's life that were lucky enough to come in contact with her.
Toni is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Rene Webster, son Paul, mother Lolita Turnbeaugh and siblings: Margaret DeWitt, Jeannie Carroll, Vicki Presser, Hyrum Turnbeaugh, Lydia Turnbeaugh-Adams, and fourteen nieces and nephews.
