Ina Ray Scalf Whisenhunt
WHISENHUNT, INA RAY SCALF PINEY FLATS -- Ina Ray Scalf Whisenhunt, 74, of 767 Austin Springs Road, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Knoxville, had lived most of her life in Johnson City, and retired from employment as a nurse with Johnson City Memorial Hospital. She was a charter member of Tri-Cities Church of God and a member of the Daughters of America and the Johnson City Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Arthur Whisenhunt. Survivors include three sons, Worley H. Steppe and Danny Whisenhunt, both of Johnson City, and Travis Whisenhunt, Fort Payne, Ala.; three daughters, Sue Wyatt, Piney Flats, Barbara Copas, Johnson City, and Mary Tenpenny, Blountville; seven brothers, James Scalf Jr., Danny White and Roger Scalf, all of Johnson City, Randy Scalf, Greeneville, Layton Scalf, Jonesborough, John Scalf, Chuckey, and Ronnie Scalf, Knoxville; five sisters, Rita Vonglas, Milligan College, Reatha Brown, Greeneville, Robin Cox, Chuckey, Pam Ingram, Winston-Salem, NC, Penny Hallman, Baxley, GA; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City, is in charge.
