Raymond Oren Whisenant Sr.
Raymond Oren Whisenant, Sr. celebrated life up until the end when, with the full moon above and the first day of spring below, he passed from one world into the next during the early hours of March 20, 2011. His last waking hours were full of love and time spent returning home from vacationing with family and friends at his beloved Colorado mountain cabin. Raymond's many life accomplishments include growing up as a ranchers son with his parent's, KC and Lillie Whisenant and his sister Lyndia Oliver, partnering with his son building a successful water well drilling business, and serving as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Hays County. Raymond was well known for his gift of "water witching" and finding water, a gift people still sought him for after he retired. The loving legacy he leaves behind includes his son and daughter-in-law, Ray Whisenant, Jr. and Connie Murray Whisenant, his daughter, Audel Whisenant Cayce, his grandchildren Brandt and Shane Whisenant and Cassell Puryear Durst, their spouses Shana Barak Whisenant, Janey Taylor Whisenant, and Todd Durst, and three great grandsons, Chase and Jake Whisenant and Ashton Durst.
