Margaret Jake Wayne Whisenant, 82, homemaker
ARAB -- Funeral for Margaret Jake Wayne Whisenant, 82, of Arab will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rescue Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Flynn and the Rev. Ken Hester officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Gober Funeral Home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Whisenant died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in Kingston, Ga. She was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Morgan County to Jacob Goodson and Leaton Watson Goodson. She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in the Union Hill community of Morgan County. She was a member of Rescue United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Frank M. Whisenant and the mother of Don Whisenant.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Don Whisenant of Hulaco, Charles Whisenant of Arab and Frank Kerry Whisenant and Robert Whisenant, both of Georgia; four daughters, Jean Brookshire of Georgia, Faye Thornberry of Union Hill, Patsy White of Athens and Joan Andrea Terrell of Locust Fork; 25 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Whisenant, Ricky Pollard, John Terrell, Ryan Whisenant, Cody Whisenant, Russell Whisenant and Chuck Brookshire.
Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
