Gary Whisenhunt

Gary L. Whisenhunt, 50, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at his home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Drummond Cemetery with Pastor John Grabanski officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Whisenhunt was born and reared in Taylor county. He worked for 17 years in law enforcement and for several years for Roy Burns Automotive. Mr. Whisenhunt had been employed by Hardin-Simmons University Police Department for five years at the time of his death. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Whisenhunt of Abilene; three daughters, LaTonya Whisenhunt, Londi Byrd and Leta Vineyard, all of New Braunfels, TX; two grandsons; a sister, Tressie Henderson of Abilene; his fiancee, Denise Hallford of Abilene; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Whisenhunt, Nov. 8, 1988.
