Coy Bertha Strange Whisnant

Coy Bertha Whisnant, 81, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, January 3, 2000 at the River Oaks Care Center in Steele.

Born Sunday, March 17, 1918 in Sweet Water, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John Strange and Effie Joann Hull Strange.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Britt and three sons: Joe White, Syd White, and Charles Whisnant.

Coy was united in marriage to Ford Whisnant who preceded her in death.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Whisnant leaves three sons: Carold Whisnant of Glendale, Ariz., Danny Whisnant of Steele and Billy Whisnant of Sikeston, Mo.

Two daughters: Nancy Thorne of Steele and Geraldine Muse of Armorel, Ark.; Fourteen grandchildren; and Thirty great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whisnant were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2000 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.

Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Muse, Brandon Muse, Tobye Thorne, Jason Thorne, Danny Whisnant and Israel Whisnant.

Honorary pallbearers were Syd White Jr. and Lance Guthrie.
