Jackie Dale Whisenhunt

Jackie (Jack) Dale Whisenhunt was born at Texanna, OK on September 20, 1936 to Garrison and Etta Whisenhunt. He attended Texanna School until his family moved to Eufaula, where he finished grade school and high school. He attended 1 year of college at Conners before entering the Navy in 1957. He was stationed in San Diego and San Francisco before moving to Visalia, CA, where he worked for Bostich Corp until 1971. Jack then moved to Oklahoma City and worked in Metal and Concrete Manufacturing, retiring in 1998. He became a volunteer at the Chickasaw National Park in Sulphur, OK leaving in 2005 after making many lifelong friends, to manage a trailer park in Davis, OK for Joe Wells. After a cancer diagnosis, he moved to Mustang, OK to be with his brother Grady and wife Bess, to be treated at St. Anthony Hospital where he passed on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 8:38pm. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Howard and Hubert, and two sisters Dorothy and Mary. He is survived by two brothers Alvin of Plymouth, PA and Grady of Mustang, OK along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Triplett Cemetery in Texanna, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.
