CLIFFSIDE, N.C. – Lois Whisnant Spears, 77, of 154 Genie Lane, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Fair Haven Nursing Center.

A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Daisy Price Whisnant and was a homemaker and member of Goode’s Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her husband, Marion (Buck) Spears.
Surviving are two sons, Dan Spears and Donald Spears, both of Cliffside; two daughters, Mary Marshall and Pat Bailey, both of Cliffside; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home with the Rev. Jake Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
