Ethel F. Whisenant
CLOVER - Ethel Louise Foster Whisenant, 86, formerly of 1096 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, S.C. died, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Unihealth Post Acute Care, Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stafford and Rev. Kevin Witt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at M. L Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, S.C. and other times at the home of her daughter, Brenda Glenn, 1060 Stowe Road, Clover, SC. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Whisenant was born July 5, 1924, in Coolemee, N.C. to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Lola Creason Foster. She was the widow of Jack Neil Whisenant. She retired from the Clover School District and Bethany Elementary School, member of Clover First Baptist Church her whole adult life, where she sang in the choir. Two of her most joyous times, were being a member of WUU and her adult ladies Sunday School Class. She was a member for 51 years of the Clover Chapter of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Grand Matron many times. She enjoyed her travel time and visited 49 states.
Survivors are her daughters, Brenda and Tom Ed Glenn of Clover, S.C. and Jackie Wallace of Smyrna, S.C.; sons, Michael and Joy Whisenant of Lewiston, ID and Daryl and Tammy Whisenant of Concord, N.C. ; sisters Wynonna Wingate, Sue Worthington, and Lillian Hefner, all of Rock Hill, S.C.; brother, Tommy Foster of Chester, S.C.; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
