Otis Ray Whisenhunt
Otis Ray Whisenhunt Otis Ray Whisenhunt peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon July 5, 2011, at the age of 80. He was born in Pike, Oklahoma on July 3, 1931. He made Bastrop, Texas his hometown and was a strong man who had a passion for hard work. He enjoyed building things, fishing and visiting with his family and friends. Otis was preceded in death by his father, Orbra and mother, Ival Whisenhunt, and brother, LB Whisenhunt. Surviving to honor his memory is the mother of their three daughters, Mary Beth Whisenhunt; daughters, Donna and husband Craig Kirklin, Becky and husband Thomas Whited, Carrie and husband Paul Ervin; two sisters, Bernice Tharp and Pat Champion; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 8th. A funeral service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9th. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in McDade, TX.
