Virgil Ellis Whisenhunt Jr., 60, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at his residence. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, June 17, 2011, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Zion Cemetery in Jasper. Barbara Morgan will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Ellis Whisenhunt Sr.; mother, Ellen Ruth Whisenhunt; sister, Janice Mitchell; and brother, Jimmy Whisenhunt.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Whisenhunt of Jasper; daughters, Pam Cook (P.J.) of Jasper; and Kim Tidwell (David) of Jasper; sister, Sheila Guthrie (Mike) of Jasper; brother, Bobby Whisenhunt (Sheila) of Jasper; grandchildren, Lauren Cook, Logan Cook, Jacob Cook, Jordyn Cook, Ashley Nichols, Danyelle Tidwell and Dallas Tidwell; and mother-in-law, Mary Key of Jasper.
