Robert Whisnant
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Robert Allen Bobby Whisnant, 52, left us way too soon entering into rest on July 18,2011 at Doctors Hospital. Bobby was born to the late Vaughn and Ann Whisnant on December 9, 1958 in Augusta, Ga. He was an active member of Canaan Baptist Church here in Augusta, Preacher Mike Andrews was his pastor and friend. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Augusta, along with his brother Ronnie (Cindy) Whisnant and seven sisters, Debra, Tinky, Tiny, Connie, Melissa, Sissy, and Crystal. In March of 1983, Bobby married his soulmate Susi. Their story spanned nearly 30 years and was a true testament to deep and enduring love. Together they created the greatest love of both of their lives, a son Cory Allen Whisnant. Bobby considered Cory to be his greatest accomplishment. You could always see the spark of pride in Bobby's eyes whenever he spoke of Cory, who has grown to be a great man, like his father in so many ways. Bobby was devoted to his career as a machine technician and salesman for Augusta Janitorial Supply. His ability to repair virtually anything and dedication to service put him in the highest regard with Mr. Huff, a boss he considered to be more of a father. Bobby loved to fish, camp, and most of all, spend quality time with his family. Bobby loved the Lord and had rededicated his life to serving Him. His warm personality and willingness to help others formed many lifelong friendships over his lifetime. If anyone was in need, Bobby would selflessly give everything he could to help them. Bobby leaves behind two sister-in-laws, Nina Williams and Dionne Maddocks, who consider him the brother they always wanted. Bobby also leaves many nieces and nephews, who will always remember how extraordinary Uncle Bobby really was. Friends are asked to join the family for the viewing at Hephzibah Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 on Sunday,July 24,2011.
