Elizabeth Whisnant Pleasants

LEWISVILLE, NC - Elizabeth Whisnant Pleasants July 1, 1917 - Oct. 16, 2011 Elizabeth Whisnant Pleasants, 94, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday October 16, 2011. Elizabeth was born July 1, 1917 to Claude and Mary Whisnant. Elizabeth, "Lib", was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers, James (Faye) and Paul (Janet) Whisnant of Thomasville, NC, and one sister, Evelyn Whisnant (Glen) Schmidt of Sacramento, CA. She is survived by one sister, Pauline Whisnant Franklin of Arcata, CA, two daughters, Judy Pleasants Baker (Jim) of Winston-Salem, and Barbara Pleasants Angel of King and three granddaughters, Lisa Baker Harrelson (Junior), Krista Baker and Joy Baker Harrelson (Kent), as well as six great grandchildren. Elizabeth was a member of Vienna Baptist Church for many years. She has spent the past four years in a skilled nursing facility-Village Care of King. The family will receive visitors at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jeff Clawson at Vienna Baptist Church on Thursday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Village Care for the excellent care given and the many kindnesses both to Elizabeth and her two daughters. You folks have given Elizabeth so much attention, care, love and laughter in the last years of her life. May God give each of you who attended to our mom a special blessing for the blessings you have given her and our family.
