Howard Lee Whisenant

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Howard Lee Whisenant, 70, Steele, who died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011. The Rev. Joe Wise, the Rev. Gerald Green and the Rev. Steve Spelce will officiate. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mr. Whisenant was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, where he was the former pastor and current assistant pastor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P. and Letha Whisenant; and brothers, James and Clyde Whisenant.

Survivors include wife, Cora Whisenant; daughters, Jrene Lanning, Sharron (Randy) Gibson; sons, Lee (Chris)Whisenant, Eugene (Jo) Whisenant, Jonathan (Krissy) Whisenant; sister, Mae Whisenant Brown; brother, Henry Whisenant; grandchildren, Kristy Whisenant Turmuzi, Brandon Whisenant, Thomas Lanning, Tiffany Lanning, Joseph Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Ross Whisenant, Katelin Whisienant; great-grandchild, Hayden Hopkins.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Whisenant, Thomas Lanning, Joseph Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Ross Whisenant and Gary White.

Special thanks to the doctors nurses and staff at Gadsden Regional SICU and also to Lawley Hospice.

Visitation will be this morning up until the hour of the service.
