Annie W. Chappell
CLOVER - Annie Laura Whisnant Short Chappell, 87, of 6492 Ridge Road, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Peak Resources, Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Elwood Seamster and the Rev. Sandy Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
The pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Mrs. Chappell was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Paul and Annie Young Whisnant. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Rae Short, and sister, Betty Burdette.
Survivors are her husband, LeRoy Chappell; daughter, Jeannean Short Rogers (the Rev. Sandy Rogers) of Mint Hill, N.C.; sons, Norris Eugene "Gene" Short (Judy) of Mint Hill, N.C., and Bennie Rae Crosby (Frances) of Mooresville, N.C.; sister, Patsy Whisnant of Simpsonville, S.C., and Mary McCoy (Jim) of Anderson, S.C.; stepchildren, Terry Chappell (Becky) and Sharon McCarter (Russell), both of Clover, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Peak Resources of Gastonia, N.C., and Willow Ridge of Rutherfordton, N.C., for their loving care.
