Virginia Whisenant

Virginia Christine Whisenant, 88, of Burnet, died February 14, 2012, at a hospital in Burnet, Texas.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Werth Mayes officiating.

Virginia was born on July 13, 1923, to the late Lee and Emma (Etheton) Ponder in Alexander, Texas. She married Robert Henry Whisenant on September 13, 1942, in Alexander, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1975.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville, Texas.

Survivors include her sons, Ron Whisenant and wife, Jan, of Burnet, and Tom Whisenant and wife, Daisy, of Helotes; brother-in-law, Bill Whisenant and wife, Jane Ann, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and their daughter, Lisa Whisenant; grandson, Matt Whisenant of San Antonio; one niece, Sammie Pierce of Stephenville; and one nephew, Norman Deisher of Stephenville.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Terry and Monette Deisher, and one brother, Lee Ponder.
