Toby Whisenhunt
LUBBOCK-Toby Whisenhunt, 78, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life today, Feb. 18, 2012, at 5 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd St, Lubbock. Toby was born on June 10, 1933, to King Albert and Gladys Green in Sweetwater, Texas. She graduated from Monahans High School. Toby married Leon Whisenhunt on Feb. 1, 1952. She moved to Knox City in 1980 and was employed with Lynn Electric for several years. Toby worked for the Knox County Historical Commission in Benjamin until October of 2008. She was instrumental in building the Wichita Brazos Museum. She is survived by three children, Linda Adams, David Whisenhunt and his wife Kathy, and Celia Ann Whisenhunt. Toby is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Elston and husband Alfred; and brother, Arlen Green and wife Betty Sue. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Leon Whisenhunt; and son-in-law, Darrell Adams. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Wichita Brazos Museum, P.O. Box 104 Benjamin, Texas 79505.
