Mrs. Whisnant Rites Are Today

Mrs. Emma Whisnant, 53, wife of Romulus Whisnant of Sandy Pond died about 2 p.m. Tuesday of monoxide poisoning in the garage of her home. District Attorney Richard Donovan, acting as coroner, said it was suicide.

Services be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from the Weston-Woodard Funeral Home in Sandy Creek with the Rev. Leland Webster, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Surviving besides her husband are a sister, Eva Dillabaugh of New York City; a brother, William Dillabaugh of R.D. 2 Pulaski; her stepmother, Mrs. Anna Dillabaugh of Watertown; three nephews and one niece.

Mrs. Whisnant was born in Centerville Sept 6, 1902, the daughter of James A. and Maude Fox Dillabaugh. She attended school in Centerville and later in Watertown. She came to Sandy Pond with her husband from Syracuse in 1930.

She was a member of the Sandy Creek grange, attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Sandy Pond Sportsman's Association.
