Merrill E. "Eddy" Whisenant
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Merrill E. "Eddy" Whisenant Jr., 59, Gallant, who died April 18, 2012. The Rev. Tom Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Gallant Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.
Eddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Gallant. He was also a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, the Sons of American Revolution and, in high school, the Etowah Singers. Music was very special to Eddy. Eddy delivered bread in the Gadsden/Attalla area for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill E. "Buddy" Whisenant Jr.; and his mother, Virginia Mae Hutchens Whisenant.
Survivors: wife, Pam Whisenant, Gallant; daughters, Brandi Stephens, Odenville, Hayley Whisenant, Gallant; sons, Nicholas Whisenant, Ft. Payne, Michael Whisenant, Gallant; grandsons, Zane Whisenant, Ft. Payne, Johnathan Stephens, Odenville, Gabriel Whisenant, Ft. Payne; sister, Elaine (Mike) Brannon, Southside; niece, Angela (Brad) Bennett, Smithville, Miss.
Pallbearers: Tim Barksdale, Kevin Barksdale, Brad Bennett, Jeff Wiggins, Sonny Washburn and Brian Trentham.
Honorary pallbearers: brother-in-law, Mike Brannon and Michael Plemons.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
