Jerry Whisenant
MORGANTON Jerry Dennis Whisenant, 50, of Morganton, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Burke County, Aug. 15, 1961, he was the son of Cecil Camuel Whisenant and Sadie Mae Whisnant Whisenant. Jerry was raised in the Baptist Faith and attended Freedom High School. During his work career he was a maintenance worker with the City of Morganton Water Department, Grace Hospital, and Western Piedmont Community College. In addition to his parents, Jerry is survived by his brothers, Ronnie Whisenant and wife, Debbie, of Asheville, and Andy Whisenant and wife, Angie, of Hickory; a sister, Sandra Brown and husband, Eddie, of Morganton; and nieces, Stephanie, Laura, Morgan, Kaysi and Kenzi Whisenant. The funeral will be held at noon, Monday, May 28, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home, with the Revs. John Pritchard and Thom Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
