Ida Belle Gilfillan Whisnant

85, of 514 W. Garrison Blvd. died Oct. 3, 1990, at Kings Mountain Hospital.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Carothers Funeral Home, with Dr. A. Douglas Aldrich officiating. Burial is in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston. A service will be 1:30 p.m. at the cemetery. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight.

Mrs. Whisnant, a Leigh's Sandwich Co. employee and a practical nurse, was born in York County, S.C., daughter of the late John and Katie Childers Gilfillan. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are husband, Joe Luther Whisnant; sons, Howard Whisnant of Tampa, James Whisnant of Charlotte; brothers, Bert Gilfillan of Clover, Johnnie Gilfillan of Sharon, S.C., Sam Gilfillan of Blacksburg, S.C.; sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Martin of Hickory Grove, Mrs. Martha Hogue of York, S.C., Mrs. Jean White of Blacksburg, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
