Evelyn Cobb Whisnant(November 22, 1934 - July 25, 2012)

Gaffney, SC - - Evelyn Cobb Whisnant, 77, of Christopher Lynn Apt. 3C, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Fred Whisnant and daughter of the late Broadus and Viola Lowery Cobb. Mrs. Whisnant retired from textiles, was a homemaker and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Blacksburg. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Ty Courtney and wife, Ada of Campobello; three daughters, Teddi Crocker and husband, Tim, Cassaundra Courtney Jansen, and Laura Humphries and husband, Johnny, all of Gaffney; two brothers, N. B. Cobb and Eck Cobb, both of Gaffney; a sister, Dora Tramel of Pacolet; thirteen grandchildren, Candy Mullinax and husband, Eddie, Dana Fuller and husband, Joe, Wayne Jansen, Douglas George, Courtney Crocker, Amanda Cox and husband, Matt, Ashley Hintz and husband, Sean, Kyle Courtney, Derrick Courtney, Justin Courtney, John Courtney and wife, Erica, Deanna Simmons and Brad Simmons; twenty-eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Gregory officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Teddi & Tim Crocker, 218 Cherokee Creek Road, Gaffney.
