Donald Whisenhunt (1932 - 2012)

Waynesville - Donald Roberts Whisenhunt, age 80, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Walter M. and Ethel Roberts Whisenhunt and also preceded in passing by four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jean West Whisenhunt; one daughter, Leigh Whisenhunt of Waynesville; one son, Rick Whisenhunt and his wife, Julie, of Fairfax, Virginia; two sisters, Katherine Duval of Waynesville and Alice Falls and her husband, Harry, of Austin, Texas; one brother, M.R. "Bud" Whisenhunt and his wife, Edith, also of Waynesville; three grandchildren, James, Ryan, and Allie Whisenhunt; many nieces and nephews. Donald was a devoted family man and a friend to all.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
