Margaret Bartless

WILSON, N.C. - Mrs. Margaret Nichols Whisnant Bartless, 96, died, Friday, Augusta 24, 2012 in the Longleaf Medical Center in Wilson, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem, with her son, the Rev. Charles Whisnant officiating. Interment will be in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Bartless is preceded in death by her parents, Hobie and Nobie Nichols, her first husband, Osbie Whisnant; second husband, Tom Bartless; daughters, Nellie Corrdina and Doris Newsome; granddaughter, Thomasine Kneece; sisters, Mattie Lee Whisnant and Vivian Powell and brother, Thomas Nichols. Survivors include one son, Rev. Charles Whisnant (Maxine), Augusta, GA; daughters, Mary Kneece Carter, Augusta and Aileen Buxton, Knightale, NC; grandchildren, Rosbie Whisnant (Carol), Regina Daniel (Jeff), Vito Corrdina (Lisa), Tony Corrdina, Brian Buxton, Tonia Buxton, Eloise Whisnant, Jerry Newsome, Eddie Newsome, Aaron Newsome, Starelene Thomas, Scheree Horner (Charles); twenty-four great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Before her illness she would walk for miles to help a friend or neighbor and take in every stray animal she could feed and care for. Her faith was in God and He saw her through some very trying times in her life. She was loved much by those who knew her. Pallbearers will be Rosbie Whisnant, Chris Daniel, Ben Whisnant, Jeff Daniel, Justin Daniel and Jeffery Daniel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
