Calvin "Pete" Whisenhunt
Calvin "Pete" Whisenhunt, age 86, of Mena, passed away, Monday, October 22, 2012 in Mena.
He was born February 20, 1926 in Shady, Arkansas to the late Isaac Whisenhunt and the late Pearl Blanton Whisenhunt. He was united in marriage to Lorene "June" Armstrong, his wife of 63 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Pete, along with his wife, June owned and operated Pete's Malt Shop located on Main Street in Mena from 1956-1966. Mr. Whisenhunt served as deputy sheriff from 1966 to 1972 , retiring from US Motors after 16 years. He was a Masonic Worshipable Master of the Mena Masonic Lodge #129. He was a loving husband, father, step grandfather, step great grandfather, father-in-law and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Pearl Whisenhunt, his wife Lorene Whisenhunt and his brothers, Tom and Joe Whisenhunt and his sister, Dovie Golden.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
