Faye Dare Whisenant

Lenoir, NC – Ms. Faye D. Whisenant, age 68, of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home.

Born September 20, 1944 in Caldwell County, Faye was a daughter of the late John and Edna Crump Whisenant. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Faye was a hardworking woman and had worked as a furniture inspector for over 42 years with Thomasville Furniture Company. She will be remembered as a loving mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Philyaw and Doris Watson; two brothers, Jack J. Whisenant and Horace D. Whisenant.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Kenny J. Whisnant, wife Tinucha, of Lenoir; two grandsons, Nate "Baby Boy" and Anthony "Big Boy" of Lenoir; two brothers and sisters in law, Reverend Jim Whisnant, wife Bertha, of Lenoir, and Bobby K. Philyaw, wife Nora, of Hudson; two sisters, Shirley Robbins and Lois Austin, husband Harold, both of Lenoir; a special friend, James Vaughan II; Faye is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.

A celebration of Faye's life will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Lingerfelt and Reverend Jim Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Cohee, James Vaughn II, Terry Street, Bobby Moore, James Vaughn III, Jimmy Whisenant, Harold Austin and Jimmy Beard. Honorary pallbearers will be Nate Cohee and Tony Crawford.

The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
