WHISENHUNT WINSTON-SALEM Robert Eugene Whisenhunt April 5, 1945 - Nov. 12, 2012

Mr. Robert Eugene Whisenhunt, 67, passed away November 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1945 in Forsyth County to the late Oscar Whisenhunt and Leona Craver Whisenhunt. Robert was owner of M & R Motors and Roberts Towing Service. In the late 1970's he was the driver of cars #18 and #45 at Bowman Gray Stadium and attended every Saturday race until his health declined. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Whisenhunt and his brother, Pete Whisenhunt. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Everidge Whisenhunt of the home; two daughters, Myssy Whisenhunt and Pamela Whisenhunt both of Winston-Salem; four step-daughters, Teresa Miller of Winston-Salem, Lisa Everidge of Thomasville, Sandy Kelly of Winston-Salem, and Tina Parker and husband Phillip of East Bend; twelve grandchildren, Hayley, Destiny, Nathan, Christian, Jordyn, Maryanna, Stacy, Chris, Jennifer, Rachel, Ben, and Sarah; two nephews, Keith and Danny Whisenhunt and a niece, Tammy Whisenhunt. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Robert Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to recognize and give a special thanks to Steve and Rhonda Holleman and Jerry Robertson for their care and support.
