Peggy Whisenant

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Peggy Knowles Whisenant, 75, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, N.C.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Sherer officiating. Burial will be private.

Born in Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Whisenant was the daughter of the late Paul Knowles and the late Sarah Baker Knowles. She was a secretary at Mount Gallant Elementary School, a substitute teacher at Northwestern High School and also worked for the State Department of Juvenile Justice. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Rock Hill Shag Club and the SOS.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald E. Whisenant; her sons, Ronald E. Whisenant Jr. of Rock Hill and Paul Ryan Whisenant of Fort Mill; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, and other times at the home.
