Jodie Mae Whisenhunt

Jodie Mae (Harris) Whisenhunt, 86, of McAlester, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at a local nursing center. She was born May 9, 1926, in Hanna, to Cal and Nancy (Gonzalus) Harris. She spent most of her life in Nipomo, Calif., where she enjoyed gardening, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, knitting and crocheting. She was retired from Safeway, Inc. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a son, Gene Whisenhunt and wife, Nancy, of McAlester; and a daughter and her family, Billie J. Stamps, of Corona, Calif. Also, grandsons and their families, Eric and Jenny Whisenhunt and their children Brendin and Karli, of Yukon, and Brady Whisenhunt and Draven and Sierra, of Mustang; and a granddaughter and her family, Donna and Bryan Dooley and their children, Keely and Jack, of Carefree, Ariz. Also, a step grandson and his family, K.J. and Cher Burks and children Shelby, Maddy and Kaya, of Crowder; a sister and her family, Betty Bogard, of Krebs, and numerous nieces and a host of friends. Graveside services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hanna Cemetery with the Rev. James Crowson officiating.
