Martha L. Whisnant Cobb
Mrs. Martha L. Cobb, age 71, of Covington passed away February 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 4, 1941 in Pendergrass, Georgia to James Swain and Ruthie Maudell Lee Whisnant. Mrs. Cobb was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed fishing, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband Cleatos Bell and her second husband Norman Cobb and her brothers David Whisnant, Wilburn Whisnant and Edward Whisnant.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by her children and their spouses; Rex and Barbara Bell of Covington, James "Buck" Bell of Covington, David Mark Bell of Oxford and Mary and Ed Brewer of Hackett, Arkansas along with 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters and their spouses; Dean and Carol Whisnant of Demorest, Bobby Whisnant, Timmy Whisnant, both of Conyers, Ronnie and Ellen Whisnant of Oxford, Jackie Lester of Covington and Evelyn Patton of Conyers along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Memorial services for Mrs. Cobb will be held at 1 O'clock Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Adams and Pastor Ralph Romans officiating. The family will receive friends 12pm until 1pm prior to the service on Tuesday. J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, 2157 East Street SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of arrangements.
