Opal Lee Fincher Whisenhunt

Opal Lee Whisenhunt, age 88, of Mena died Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. She was born on Saturday, November 11, 1924 to Luther and Grace Stricklin Fincher in Loveland, Colorado.

Opal worked for many years as a clerk for the government and would go out on the fire fields and help do paper work for the firefighters out fighting the fires. She enjoyed this work very much. She also enjoyed going to the Polk County Senior Center in Mena. She had many friends there. She enjoyed painting in her spare time and spending time with her cousins. Opal was of the Methodist Faith. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Whisenhunt.

Opal is survived by her cousins, Helen Warren of Mena and Kerry Stricklin of Mustang, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Mena with Reverend Gary Harrison officiating. No visitation is planned. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
